I recently visited the South Gare peninsular bounding the South side of the river Tees. Dressed in pale camouflage clothing and using a bean bag to rest my camera on, I settled down on the wet sand waiting for the rising tide to push the birds feeding on the tide line towards me. Birds were few and far between but two Bar Tailed Godwit were pushed towards me, lying flat and using the camera on bean bag to give the low angle for the shots the birds were happily feeding in front of me. There is something quite exhilarating and privileged being so close to wild birds feeding without concern of your presence.
Camera used; Olympus Systems M1 with 300mm F4 lens plus MC14 teleconverter.
